The Culmination in a Kiss

Threw this one together over a day, so pardon some of the rough edges. But I really wanted something to cap off the amazing shipping tournament we’re having, and to make something for Weiss' birthday today! Really hoping White Knight wins out in the ship war, it’s been an insane series of firsts for the ship. This was the first time we made it past the very first round! And here we are in the finals!

This is so momentous; with Rooster Teeth shutting down, RWBY’s continuation hopeful for the future but a bit up in the air, and on the day of Weiss’ birthday (and won’t she appreciate this little comic as a gift). And for me personally, as someone that’s shipped White Knight from the start, and saw how the community’s attitude towards it has evolved and so radically flipped. It makes seeing White Knight coming out so strongly, and really dominating the tournament even, something truly special. I have to thank everyone that’s been taking part, this little competition has been a lot of fun.

Win or lose, it’s been great. Just like the show itself. Of course, I wouldn’t say no to winning it! Come on White Knight! One final effort is all that remains! One last mission! It’s time to finish the fight! Make it official!

I think the reason I connect to Jaune of all characters is because I can relate to the feeling of inadequacy. Ofcourse the character isn't perfect and I get why people just don't like him but I can't agree. Ofcourse that's just a shitty opinion and of course obviously my opinions are garbage. The room went quiet as jaune simply nodded.

Jaune: so-

Weiss: jaune, since you did ask that I think It's only fair that I ask you a question.

Weiss: if you went back in time.. what would you do?

Jaune: let's see, I would try harder in my classes, I'd have enough with Cardin's bullshit a lot earlier.. and I'd be honest with my team and you guys.. outside of that I'd stop flirting with you.. I got a lot of things I wish I could fix.

Weiss: but obviously.. what's happened, has happened.

Jaune: no going back.

Weiss: speaking of no going back, since we've finished up for today I say we go visit Ruby.

Jaune: alright then, you sure I should come with? It's.. been awhile since me and her actually talked.

Weiss: I think it do you both good.

Oscar: **turns to Jaune** why do you believe someone is stealing them?

Jaune: Because I doubt I'm misplacing them and anyone but Oscar could have a motive.

Emerald: Wait, why is Oscar not a suspect?

Jaune: Because why would he need a razor? He's still baby face. He's as smooth as a baby's butt.

Oscar: Hey! I'm getting some hair on my upper lip.

Nora: Yeah, even girls have tiny hairs on their face, Oscar. You ain't foolin' anyone.

Ren: So why do you suspect us?

Jaune: Because then you'd reveal to Nora that you can in fact grown facial hair and she wouldn't let you shave, thus growing a beard. And in self preservation of your pelvis, you secretly shave because if Nora saw you with a beard, she would ride you like a wild Usra until you died of dehydration.

Jaune: Nora and Emerald could use my razors to shave leg hair, Nora because she thinks it's okay to use without asking permission and Emerald because she thinks it's free real estate.

Emerald: This is crazy. Just keep better track of your shit. **Leaves room**

**Later**

Emerald: **Walks into random dark alley.** You here?

Voice from shadows: Were you followed?

Emerald: pfft, you know who you're talking to?

Voice: Good. **Person emerges from shadows, revealing Weiss**

To comfort a broken soul

After the battle of Haven there is cheering, celebration and a happy of a Team that is finally together. But there is a one pearson who canmot wash of the feeling of guilt. The feeling of been useless again when a friend was almost killed by his fault. That pearson is Jaune Arc. The leader of Team JNPR, well the leader of what use to be Team JNPR after the death of his partner, closes friend, mentor and a pearson he have grown to have romanric feelings. That pearson was Pyrrha Nikos. After her death he feeled that he was alone. And now that he saw that Team RNJR was dismantle and that Team RWBY was finally complete. He fealed happy for Ruby to have her Team again united, but he fealed alone. Jaune dicided to leave the reunited Team alone so they could catch up and Ren and Nora could have time for themeselves. He heared from Qrow that the area close to Haven had really good bars and places to drink. Jaune only wanted to forget about his error and that he almost did to Ruby what Cinder did to him. That thing is killing his partner. Jaune knows he wasn't the own that throw the spear, but he was the one that started the chain reaction of events to that moment. He knew that Weiss hated him even more that she did in Beacon. He finnally was in the door that leaded to the bar. He opened the door, he saw the bar. The bar was smaller than a Beacon classroom, but way bigger than his doorn room in Beacon. The place had some vibe of a old dectives movie. There where four pearson in the pool table with some cigars and cigarattes. They were two tables been use be some pearson chating and talking about the dust prices. Jaune then he headed to the bartenders table.

Bartender: What would you have?

Jaune: Jack Daniels and Dust Cola (thinked as Coca Cola)

Bartender: So one Jack Daniels and Dust Cola coming right up.

one minute later the drink was ready

Bartender: Here you go *puts the drink in front of Jaune*

Jaune: Thanks.

Jaune started to sip his drink. Meanwhile that happend his mind start to drift to what happend in the battle of Haven. First the betrayal of Lionheart, then Yang's mother appearing with Cinder and her croonies. Then his breakdown that leaded to the start of the battle, where he again was useless to help his friends, again. He remember that he said that he was only worth for giving timw to his friends to escape and that he was worthless. His thoughts were interupted by the door of the bar been open and the familiar sound of heels taping the floor. The figure then seated next to him and oeder her drink

Weiss: A virgin Vital libre please.

Bartender: One virgin Vital libre coming right up.

Weiss: I didn't know that you liked to drink?

Jaune: Yeah. Keeps my mind away of thinking things I don't like to think.

Weiss: Since when do you drink?

Jaune: Since the night after the fall. I wanted to stop thinking about what happend.

Weiss: Do Ruby, Ren and Nora know about this?

Jaune: No. And is good that way.

Weiss: You know that they need to know about this.

Jaune: Why are you here? I thought that you were in Haven with your team?

Weiss: Well I wanted to breath fresh air and to talk with me savior.

That final part made Jaune look to Weiss with a confuse look.

Jaune: Savior? But I was the reason that you almost die in the first place.

Weiss: You are wrong Jaune. But I thik we should talk this while we make our way back to Haven.

Then Weiss stand ups and pays for the both drinks. Then the knight and the fencer walked out of the bar ans maded there way back to Haven

Jaune: I thought you were cut off of the family?

Weiss: Let us say that I didn't leave the Schnee manor with the pockets empty. Now Jaune. You save me. Cinder was the one that throwed that spear not you.

Jaune: But I was the one that started the battle and put all of us in danger. Just for not been capable in keeping my emotion in check.

Weiss: Jaune, that wasn't your fault. I would have done a similar thing if Cinder killed my partner.

Jaune: But I'm the one who is useless. I was the one who was useless and made Cinder saw you and inpalated you. It would have been better if I was the one that die in the towe-

Jaune felt a sharp pain in his left cheek. He then saw Weiss with tears tunning from her checks and with her left hand in the air

Weiss: Don't you said that. You are more importan than you think you are. You helped Ruby when her team wasn't around to help. You fought with alot of Grimm and held your ground. And you saved my life! You are not worthless Jaune Arc. Ren and Nora needs you. Ruby needs you. I need you!

Jaune realised that he hurt again a pearson he cared for twice in the same day.

Weiss: When I saw your eyes and look the pass days I could only saw a look of pain and sadness. I heard what you said to Cinder, Jaune. You are importan to all of us. To me also.

Jaune: Weiss I'm sorry if I couldn't see that I hurted you again, I'm re-

What Jaune was going to say was interupted by Weiss kissimg him and he quickly resicprocate the kiss

Weiss: Jaune, there is no need for a apology.

Jaune: Thanks Weiss.

Weiss: No problem my Knight.

then both Jaune and Weiss made there way back to Haven. Neither of then knows what could happend tomorrow, but they now they are togher no matter what happends..

Vacuan Nights, Like Vacuan Days

They’re just so great together! I’d love for Jaune and Weiss to get a little downtime in Vacuo to live out a moment like this. They really deserve it, and I’d love to see Jaune’s guitar make a reappearance.

You folks may have noticed I threw in a couple of references for those in the know; the Golden Oreos behind Yang (double stuffed, I might add) for the trio’s ship, Weiss liking it rough for Mallobaude’s great fic, and of course I made a whole theme around the Arabian Nights Disney song. A song, along with its Aladdin compatriots, which I spent the better part of a day finding covers for just to listen to on repeat while I worked.

This one’s now officially my longest comic project, with 14 panels, two over the past record since I added the White Knight kiss at the end. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Not sure I’d say it was more difficult than my Vanity of Vanities post, but for this one I actually knew how to use my editing software going into it (at least somewhat).

Put a lot of work into this one, been working on it on and off since February. Took a few breaks for vacation, to make my memorial post for Rooster Teeth, and another five meme edits or so, but I came back around to it. First half was pretty easy, relatively minor edits inserting characters into scenes and so on. The second half with Jaune and Weiss was tougher though, with color correcting, merging poses, redrawing features, drawing Jaune’s entire head to fix some lighting issues, etc. Really like how the edit to make Jaune strum his guitar turned out.

The time it took to make the whole comic got me down a little, until I did a bit of math. Including my side projects since starting this, all the scripting and editing and all, I’ve been pumping out a panel every two days. That seems pretty good to me, that kind of accomplishment makes me a little proud of myself.

Really need to get around to watching the second part of the Justice League Crossover movies. It’s got a few Vacuo scenes that might make things a little more authentic instead of me just using Saphron’s house and pretending it’s a suite in Vacuo. I do love taking yet more character stills from Jaune and friends experiencing deep trauma and turning it into something positive, been making that a bit of a personal habit. And I’ve got to say, the background for Jaune and Weiss’ scene is really beautiful, pulled it from when Sun and Neptune hear Ruby’s message about Salem. That’s just a really good shot all on its own, I even saved a copy for my computer’s wallpaper after editing out the two.

Posting a big RWBY White Knight edit, watching not one but two RWBY Beyond episodes, and all on the trail of the news that RWBY’s found partners that they’re negotiating with and that the creative team is expected to stay on. And I'm sipping bubble tea. Life is good.

Anyway, pardon the long write up. I’m invested in this one, and am quite pleased with how the comic turned out. I hope you all get a kick out of it as well!
